Professor of Architecture, currently teaching at the Building Technology Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. The first Editor of the METU JFA (1975-82). Studied civil engineering at Robert College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and architecture at Columbia University. Is the editor of the Vernacular Architecture: Paradigms of Environmental Response, a collection of papers presented at The Vernacular Workshop at METU in Ankara and co-author, with David Stea, of Placemaking: Production of Built Environment in Two Cultures. Current interests include history of architectonics, which is leading to a book that is in progress. At present, he is teaching at Roger Williams University.
