Received her Bachelor’s (1994), Master’s (1999), and Ph.D. degrees (2005) in Art History from Hacettepe University. Currently empoleyed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Abant İzzet Baysal University. Employed as research assistant at İTÜ (1969); completed his Ph.D. (1976) with research on gypsum. Earned associate professor (1981) and professor degrees (1988). A conservation chemist, associate professor and chairman at the Department of Restoration and Conservation of Artefacts at the Faculty of Letters of İstanbul University. Studied city planning, public administration and political science at Middle East Technical University (METU), worked for the Municipality of Ankara (1979-1982), has been teaching in the City and Regional Planning Department since 1984 at METU. Studied City and Regional Planning at METU (B. CP., 2000; M.CP., 2003) and University of Groningen, in The Netherlands (Ph.D. 2010). Participated in several Scientific Research Projects of ‘Residential Mobility’ and ‘Computational Recoding of Residential Mobility Data’ between 2002 and 2010. NİLÜFER TALU; B. Arch., M.S., Ph.D.
Teaches at the Department of Industrial Design and the Department of Architecture, İzmir Institute of Technology. Received her M.S. (2002) in Industrial Design and her Ph.D. (entitled “The Phenomenon of the Home in Modern Culture: Transcendental Homelessness and Escape Fantasy at the Intersection of Art and Design”, 2008) in Architecture from the same university. Main research interests lie in the modernity criticism focusing particularly heterogeneous kinds of texts including the sociological, philosophical, psychological, literary, as well as architectural and artistic.
