(1995) from City and Regional Planning, İstanbul Technical University; her M.RP (1999) at the Regional Planning Program and her Ph.D. (2004) in the City and Regional Planning Program of METU. Works as assistant professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Gazi University. Research interests are local economic development, production networks, clusters and innovation.

OSMAN BALABAN; B.CP., M.Sc. in Urban Policy Planning, Ph.D. Graduated from the Department of City and Regional Planning at METU (1996); received his MSc from Urban Policy Planning and Local Governments Program at METU (2000); earned his Ph.D. Degree from the Department of CRP at METU (2008). SOOFIA TAHIRA ELIAS ÖZKAN; B.Arch., M.S. and Ph.D. Has her degrees in Building Science. Practised architecture for 17 years, in Pakistan and Turkey, before joining the Department of Architecture at METU. Her research is focused on recovery, reuse and recycling of building material; sustainability, bioclimatic and green architecture, energy-efficiency and building simulations.

Served as President of the Industrial Designers Society of Turkey. Currently Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Industrial Design at METU.

A Fulbright scholar, she has published in the journals Creative Behavior, Creativity Research Journal, Arkitekt, DüÅŸe-Yazma, Patika and Koridor. ARZU KALIN, BLA LArch., MLA LArch., Ph. D. Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University. Received her BLA LArch,. MLA LArch. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University in 1994, 1997 and 2004. Areas of interest are environmental behavior research mainly focused on landscape perception, symbolic meanings of environment, symbolic landscapes, semiology (semantics) (sign theory), visual-aesthetic quality of environment, environmental preference and evaluation methodologies-applications.

ÖMER İSKENDER TULUK; B.Arch, M.Arch, Ph.D. Completed his bachelor’s (1991) and master’s (1994) degrees and earned his Ph.D. (1999) at the Karadeniz Technical University, KTU, Trabzon. Presently, is Professor of Architecture at İstanbul Kültür University. Her areas of interest are architectural design, environment and behavior, and architectural education.
