LEYLA ALPAGUT; B.A., M.A., Ph.D. in Arts
Received her Bachelor’s (1994), Master’s (1999), and Ph.D. degrees (2005) in Art History from Hacettepe University. Currently employed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Abant İzzet Baysal University. Research interests include Early Republican Architecture in Turkey and educational buildings, foreign architects at Early Republican Period of Turkey and modern architecture. RODRIGO GARCIA ALVARADO; BArch, MS, PhD.
Architect (Catholic University of Chile, 1989), Master’s in Information Technologies (Polytechnic University of Madrid, 1994) and Ph.D. in Architectural Representation (Polytechnic University of Catalunya, 2005). Currently is Associate Professor and Head of PhD Programme in Architecture, at University of Bio-Bio, Concepcion, Chile.

BİLGE ARMATLI KÖROĞLU; BCP, MRP, PhD.
Received her B.CP. (1995) from City and Regional Planning, İstanbul Technical University; her M.RP (1999) at the Regional Planning Program and her Ph.D. (2004) in the City and Regional Planning Program of METU. Works as assistant professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Gazi University. Research interests are local economic development, production networks, clusters and innovation. OSMAN BALABAN; B.CP., M.Sc. in Urban Policy Planning, Ph.D.
Graduated from the Department of City and Regional Planning at METU (1996); received his MSc from Urban Policy Planning and Local Governments Program at METU (2000); earned his Ph.D. Degree from the Department of CRP at METU (2008). Currently works as a postdoctoral research fellow at United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies in Japan. Research interests include urban planning, urban politics, local governments and climate change mitigation and adaptation. SOOFIA TAHIRA ELIAS ÖZKAN; B.Arch., M.S. and Ph.D.
Has her degrees in Building Science. Practised architecture for 17 years, in Pakistan and Turkey, before joining the Department of Architecture at METU. Her research is focused on recovery, reuse and recycling of building material; sustainability, bioclimatic and green architecture, energy-efficiency and building simulations. MUALLA ERKILIÇ; B. Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D.
Received B. Arch. and M. Arch. degrees from METU Department of Architecture, Ankara, Turkey and Ph.D. Degree from University of Edinburgh, Department of Architecture, UK (1994). Currently teaching on architectural design and universal design at METU, Department of Architecture. Fields of interest are architectural theory and criticism, architectural education, architectural practice, and universal design.

NEVRA ERTÜRK; BA, MA, PhD.
Received B.A. in Classical Archaeology, M.A. in Museum Studies, Ph.D. in Architectural History and Theory. Is Assistant Professor in the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Art Works and teaching in the Museum Studies Graduate Program of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Is Member of ICOM Disaster Relief Task Force.

GÜLAY HASDOĞAN; B.ID, MS in BS, Ph.D.
Received her Bachelor of Industrial Design and MSc in Building Science degrees from Middle East Technical University (METU), and her Ph.D. from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, London. Served as President of the Industrial Designers Society of Turkey. Currently Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Industrial Design at METU. İPEK GÜRSEL DİNO; BArch., MSc., PhD.
Received MSc. in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) with an interest on computational design, and Ph.D. in Architecture from the Design Informatics chair of Delft University of Technology (Delft, the Netherlands). Has led and participated in research projects on computational support for building performance assessment. Research interests include information and knowledge modeling, generative design systems, algorithmic design, performance assessment of buildings in use.

DENİZ HASIRCI; B.Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D.
Is the Head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, İzmir University of Economics. A Fulbright scholar, she has published in the journals Creative Behavior, Creativity Research Journal, Arkitekt, Düşe-Yazma, Patika and Koridor.

ARZU KALIN, BLA LArch., MLA LArch., Ph. D.
Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University. Received her BLA LArch,. MLA LArch. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University in 1994, 1997 and 2004. Areas of interest are environmental behavior research mainly focused on landscape perception, symbolic meanings of environment, symbolic landscapes, semiology (semantics) (sign theory), visual-aesthetic quality of environment, environmental preference and evaluation methodologies-applications. TUĞÇE KAZANASMAZ; B.Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D.
Holds a Ph.D. in Building Science from Middle East Technical University (METU), where she received her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture. Practiced as an architect both in Ankara and İzmir for three years. Her research fields are design efficiency of healthcare buildings; architectural lighting; building performance, and energy efficient design. JAIME JOFRE MUÑOZ; BArch, Ph.D.
Has BArch (University of Bio-Bio, 1987) and Ph.D. in Architectural Design degrees (Polytechnic University of Catalunya, 2008), and works as practicing architect. Currently is Assistant Professor and Post-doctoral Researcher in University of Bio-Bio, Concepcion, Chile.

Graduated from Universität Stuttgart, Department of Architecture (2000); received a Ph.D. in Architectural History Program from METU (2010). Received her BArch from METU, MArch from Virginia Tech, MS and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Is a recipient of the SOM Foundation’s Traveling Fellowship and the ACSA Steel Design Award for for Excellence among other awards. MÜJGAN ŞEREFHANOĞLU SÖZEN; B.Arch., M. Arch., Ph.D.
Worked at Yıldız Technical University from 1972 to 2010, where she played a major role in the foundation of the Building Physics Department, and Lighting Laboratory. Has accomplished many scientific researches, has published papers and attended national-international meetings. Is still giving lectures in the same institution.

GÖKMEN TAYFUR; B.Arch., M.S.CE, M.S., Ph.D.
He holds a Ph.D. and MS from University of California, Davis (US); and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree of Civil Engineering in İstanbul Technical University (Turkey). His research fields are overland flows; channel flows; rainfall-runoff induced erosion/sediment transport; chemical transport in saturated and unsaturated zone; chemical transport by surface flows; GIS applications for hydrological watershed management; snowmelt; application of fuzzy logic. ÖMER İSKENDER TULUK; B.Arch, M.Arch, Ph.D.
Completed his bachelor’s (1991) and master’s (1994) degrees and earned his Ph.D. (1999) at the Karadeniz Technical University, KTU, Trabzon. Was appointed as lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture in 2001 and is currently employed as associate professor in the Department of Architecture (2011), where he is the head of the Architectural History Option. Runs detailed research and fieldwork on the local architectural history.

NESLİHAN TÜRKÜN DOSTOĞLU, B.Arch, M.Arch., Ph.D.
Graduated from METU (B.Arch. 1978, M.Arch. 1981), and University of Pennsylvania (Ph.D. 1986), and served as the Chair of the Department of Architecture at Uludağ University for nine years. Presently, is Professor of Architecture at İstanbul Kültür University. Her areas of interest are architectural design, environment and behavior, and architectural education. Received her bachelor degree from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in İzmir University of Economics, and is currently a research assisstant at Yaşar University, Department of Interior Architecture.
