HASAN BÖKE; B.Sc, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Associate Professor at the Department of Architectural Restoration, İzmir Institute of Technology İYTE. Studied Chemistry and received his academic degrees from METU. His research fields are sulphur dioxide-calcite reaction mechanisms and its control; characterization of the physical, mechanical, mineralogical and chemical properties of the historic mortars and plasters; archeometric studies on medieval glazed ceramics; durability and compatibility of historic building materials. FUAT GÖKÇE; B.Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D.
Studied architecture and restoration; received his B.Arch. and M.Arch. degrees at METU, his Ph.D. in classical archaeology from Ankara University. Currently coordinator of the Graduate Program of Restoration and Conservation, is teaching design in restoration; architectural photogrammetry and architectural design at the Department of Architecture, METU. CANAN PARLA; B. Arch.; M.A.; Ph.D.
Received her Bachelor in Architecture at State Architecture and Engineering Academy (ADMMA) in Ankara (1978). Graduated from the Art History Department, Hacettepe University in Ankara, with MA (1990) and Ph.D. degrees (1997). From 1997 till 2002, she was employed as a lecturer by the Art History Department of Anadolu University in Eskişehir; where she has been teaching as Assistant Professor from 2002 on. ALISON B. SNYDER; B.A., M.Arch, Registered Architect.
Graduated with B.A. in architecture from Washington University, St. Louis and M.Arch from Columbia University, New York. Associate Professor at the University of Oregon in Eugene (USA), where she teaches design studios and seminars related to her research. Currently interested in light and culture in sacred and everyday spaces; and, about how modernization and globalization impact lifestyle and building in central Anatolian villages. Was visiting professor in the Faculty of Architecture at METU during fall semester 2000.

NERİMAN ŞAHİN GÜÇHAN; B.Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D.
Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture, Graduate Program in Restoration, METU. Studied architecture and restoration; received her academic degrees from METU. Areas of interest and research are preservation, rehabilitation and regeneration of historic sites; conservation / rehabilitation of timber framed historic houses; material decay; Ankara; Southeast Anatolia Project (GAP) and old Greek settlements in Turkey. İLHAN TEKELİ; C.E., M.S., M.CP., M.A., Ph.D.
Distinguished professor of METU Faculty of  Architecture, the Department of City and Regional Planning. Wrote and co-authored more than 60 books; over 1000 papers and articles, the full account of which is to be found in the book İlhan Tekeli İçin Armağan Yazılar (2004) published by Tarih Vakfı Yurt Yayınları, İstanbul, to celebrate the Symposium dedicated to his 67th birthday. ALİ İHSAN ÜNAY; B.Sc., M.Sc. Ph. D.
Received B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (1985) at METU Department of Civil Engineering; M.Sc.(1988) and Ph.D. in Building Science (1997) at METU Department of Architecture. Currently teaching structural analysis and design at METU.
