FİGEN AKPINAR; B.CP., M.S., Ph.D. Received her Bachelor in City and Regional Planning at METU, MS in Rural Planning at the International Centre for Advance Mediterranean Agronomic Studies CIHEAM, the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza IAMZ in Spain in 1997. Extended her training at METU, receiving her Ph.D in 2005. Worked as Urban Planner at the Bank of Provinces (İller Bankası) in Ankara (1986-2007). Currently employed at İzmir Advanced Technological Institute (İYTE) as Faculty member.

BÜLENT BATUMAN; B.Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D. Received his B. Arch. and M. Arch. degrees from the Department of Architecture at METU in 1998 and 2000; his Ph.D. in History and Theory of Art and Architecture from State University of New York - Binghamton in 2006. Currently teaches architectural design at Mersin University. Areas if interest are social production and politics of built environment, history and theory of modern architecture and urbanism, urban politics, and critical social theory.

KEMAL KUTGÜN EYÜPGİLLER; B. Arch., M.Arch., Ph.D. Associate Professor in the Faculty of Architecture at the İstanbul Technical University. Completed his Ph.D. thesis titled “Kastamonu Kent Tarihi” (regarding Kastamonu’s physical evolution throughout history, monuments and historical civil buildings ) in 1995. Recently received the 2006 National Conservation Award of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the “İnebolu Türkocağı Restoration Project”.

ZEYNEP MENNAN; B.Arch., M.Arch., CEAA, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Architecture at METU, Department of Architecture where she is teaching graduate and doctoral courses in architectural theory, research, epistemology and computational design. She has co-curated the “Non Standard Architectures” exhibition at the Centre Georges Pompidou (2003-2004), and co-edited the exhibition catalogue. Founding Head of the Computational Design Research Unit at METU/MATPUM and Graduate Program Director in Architecture, METU, Department of Architecture.
