Graduated from Universität Stuttgart, Department of Architecture (2000); received a Ph.D. in Architectural History Program from METU (2010). Her Ph.D. thesis won a Mustafa Parlar Education and Research Foundation Award for the 2009–2010 Academic Year. Worked as practicing architect in Germany and Turkey from 2000 to 2006; and as a Research Assistant at Başkent University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design from 2006–2009. Research interests include; Cappadocia, Byzantine architecture, rock-cut architecture, medieval domestic architecture and medieval settlements.
