Studied architecture at the Universität Stuttgart (1994-2000). Obtained her Ph.D. degree in architectural history from the Middle East Technical University in 2010. Research interests include Byzantine Cappadocia, rock-cut architecture, vernacular settlements, historic urban landscapes, cultural and social sustainability, and disneyfication.
