Received her Bachelor in city and regional planning (1998) and her master’s degree in urban design (2001) from Middle East Technical University (METU), Faculty of Architecture. Earned her first PhD degree in city planning from Middle East Technical Univeristy (2009) and her second PhD degree in urban engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2012. Her research interests include risk management and mitigation, urban flood risk management, GIS-based modeling in mitigation planning.
